Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lb fresh mussels
- 4 bratwurst
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 3 garlic cloves; sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Broth:
- 3/4 cup Beer (Lager)
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup cream
- 2 tablespoons Silver Spring Beer’n Brat Mustard
Directions:
Slice brats into 1 inch pieces, sauté in butter and oil. Add onion, celery, and garlic to pan. Sauté on medium heat until brats have browned. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Meanwhile, mix together the following ingredients to make the broth:
- 3/4 cup Beer (Lager)
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup cream
- 2 tablespoons Silver Spring Beer’n Brat Mustard
When the brats have finished browning, add the prepared mussels and turn the heat up to high. Pour in the broth and 2 T of butter. Cover the pan for 3 to 4 minutes or until the mussels have "popped" open. Serve immediately in a shallow bowl and garnish with lemon, parsley or green onions. Serve with toasted bread.
